A Taste of the Mediterranean

Cambrils well deserves its title of gastronomic capital of the Costa Daurada. It has more than 200 restaurants with offers ranging from traditional specialities to the most avant-garde dishes.

Sea and Countryside

What makes Cambrils’ gastronomy unique is its wide variety of superb quality local ingredients that, prepared with the culinary talents of its restaurateurs, are able to satisfy even the most demanding palates.

Proof of this can be seen in the many gastronomic awards received by the town’s restaurants, two of which have Michelin stars.

Traditional Dishes

Don’t leave without tasting some of these:

  • “Rossejats” (sautéed noodles and fish)
  • Fish and shellfish hors d’oeuvre
  • Seafood paellas
  • “Suquet” fish casserole
  • “Black rice”
  • “Calçots” (spring onions) (in season)
  • Mantis prawns (in season)

Sauces:

  • Romesco
  • Allioli
  • Picada

Olive oil

The area’s star product is its D.O.P. Siurana extra virgin olive oil.

In Cambrils this olive oil is made exclusively with the Arbequina olive, a native variety.

Such is its prestige that the Cambrils Agricultural Cooperative has received numerous awards, the latest being for the Best Olive Oil of 2014.

The local olive oil stands out for its fluidity, smoothness and fruity aroma.
